Lauren Molloy Elreda

Senior Research Analyst

Lauren Molloy Elreda serves as a research advisor to the non-profit the EdTech Evidence Exchange, supporting research protocols and materials for the University of Virginia institutional review board.

Lauren received her Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies from Pennsylvania State University in 2012, and is currently a Research Assistant Professor of Education in Youth-Nex, the University of Virginia’s Center to Promote Effective Youth Development.

Lauren has over 12 years of experience conducting research with students, teachers, and schools on a range of education research projects focused on exploring and evaluating factors that influence students’ educational outcomes, with a particular interest in ways we can help teachers and schools to better promote educational success for all students.  She brings substantial experience in all stages of the research process from study design, data collection, and project management to analysis and dissemination.  Projects have included examinations of classroom peer networks and racial, ethnic, and linguistic diversity as they relate to students’ academic development, effects of specific teacher practices on student outcomes, a study of teacher preparation programs and development of early career teachers, and several randomized controlled trials testing interventions to support teachers’ professional development.
