The EdTech Genome Project Takes a Big Step and Seeks Input

What happens when you bring together educators and leaders from 30 organizations, including ASCD, AFT, NEA, SEDTA, Gallup, ISTE, AIR, and the edtech industry? In the case of the EdTech Genome Project Steering Committee, you take a major step forward in the journey to understand what edtech tools work where, and why. The EdTech Genome Project, coordinated by the Jefferson Education Exchange, aims to build sector-wide consensus on a framework of 10 contextual variables most associated with edtech implementation success or failure. The Steering Committee examined the more than 80 variables discovered in two years of study by the University of Virginia and narrowed the list of “contender variables” down to 13. Now, the initiative seeks feedback through a public comment survey to select the final 10 that will advance in the process.
